New York
After a long journey, we finally arrived in New York around 10 p.m. local time on Saturday. We were tired but happy to have reached our destination. After buying something to eat, everyone went straight to bed so we could start the next day refreshed and ready to explore.
On Sunday, after a small breakfast, we began our sightseeing tour. On the way to the ferry for the Statue of Liberty, the first students gave their prepared presentations about different landmarks. We then took the ferry past the Statue of Liberty, which was an impressive sight. Unfortunately, it started to rain later that day. When the subway also stopped running, we had to walk through New York for about half an hour, and most of us were already quite tired. However, the best part was still to come. The group split up. Some went to the NHL game between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals, while others went to see the Aladdin musical on Broadway. Both activities were absolute highlights of the day.
On Monday morning, we continued our tour and visited Times Square. Sadly, it began to rain again early that morning. At 5:15 p.m., we had scheduled to visit the top of the Empire State Building. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t in our favor. It was very foggy and windy. Despite that, we still managed to see much of the city from above, which was a great experience.
On Tuesday morning at 7 a.m., we left for the airport to catch our flight to Minneapolis. Even though the weather wasn’t perfect, our trip to New York was an amazing and exciting experience that we would definitely recommend to everyone.
